70 Acts of Kindness

in celebration of our 70th Anniversary.

During the month of June, the First Heritage SPARK crew set out to perform 70 acts of kindness in celebration of our 70th anniversary.

We traveled throughout our eleven-county field of membership in New York and Pennsylvania to spread good will and bring joy to the members of our community.

Through all of our visits we heard amazing stories that left us feeling more connected to our community and it reinforced why we do what we do every day – living up to the words “Our family helping yours.”
  • We had a first hand experience of paying it forward when we bought a woman and her son lunch and they told us they had just paid for someone else’s purchase earlier that day.

  • We met a school bus driver who was buying gift certificates for the students on his bus and we were happy to jump in and cover the cost.

  • We met a mom and mom-to-be at a local coffee shop catching up and brightened their day with paying for their coffee and snacks.

  • At the laundromat we filled the machines with quarters so the next people to come in would be taken care of.

  • Our kindness was warmly welcomed with hugs and appreciation when paying for lunch and gas at a local convenience store.

  • We met a grandmother who was a retired nurse looking for a basketball for her grandson’s birthday and we happily paid for the gift.

  • We purchased outdoor toys and sports balls for the kids to enjoy at a local youth center.

  • At a local hair salon we heard of how this was a woman’s first time out of the house after having a baby and treating herself to a salon visit – and we were happy to help pay for her cut and color.

First Heritage is dedicated to the areas we serve and the people within it. We are grateful for this place we call home.
Thank you to everyone who has joined us on this journey over the past 70 years and helped be a part of what makes this area so great. We look forward to continuing to serve our members and contribute to the betterment of our community for many more years to come.
